Superintendent selection nears semi-final stage

An educational consulting firm hired by Somerville public schools will meet with the school committee to present five semi-finalists for the position of superintendent.

     The announcement of the semi-finalists will be followed by a series of public interviews in late January and early February to select three finalists.

Toomey camp cries foul over PDS nod to Green

The campaign manager of re-election effort of State Rep. Timothy J. Toomey Jr., cried foul over the July 8 endorsement of Toomey’s Democratic primary opponent, Avi Green, by the Progressive Democrats of Somerville.

“What’s the big secret?” asked Kate Glidden, Toomey’s campaign manager, after her request for a record of the meeting’s attendance roll and a recorded vote.
