Ed wood

Is it just me or growing up in the late 1970s and early 1980s I kept myself busy and amused at no expense to taxpayers. Whether it was playing hide and seek, riding a bike, board games or sports.

Now it seems like government programs at taxpayers' expense are the cure for youth to keep them off the street and out of trouble. I don't get it.

No,Ed, it's not you, but things have changed, dramatically, since then.

Ed, did your mother work out of the home or not? You have a lot of families where both parents work and do so with bad hours than in the past.

Also, I don't think that all the MDC pools, ice rinks, etc. sprang up after the 1980s. The government was spending capital on things like that, and they aren't doing them from scratch so much any more.
