Police: Most from Cambridge, few from Somerville
By George P. Hassett
A man arrested in Cambridge for allegedly stealing over 100 parking meters during the last year may also have been stealing meters in Somerville, according to authorities.
Cambridge Police went to 5 Plymouth St. Monday night to serve a warrant on Thomas Gannon, 38, for an alleged offense in Everett. When they arrived at Gannon’s apartment, they discovered 123 stolen parking meters, Cambridge police said.
Somerville Police Captain Paul Upton said a small number of the stolen meters were from Somerville, with most coming from Cambridge.
“It was a very large number of parking meters, but most seemed to have come from Cambridge,” he said.
A source close to the investigation said Gannon took in tens of thousands of dollars from his parking meter heists. Gannon was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and breaking into a depository.
I'm curious how many bicycles were also stolen as a result, once the parking meter heads were removed from their posts.

To avoid this from happening again, I say remove all parking meters and this crime wave will vanish.

Huh? Is it illegal to take a parking meter?

Hey Mole, I hear they're naming a Suite after you at the Pats Tow Hotel and Resort Casino. It will be fully accessible on the "Joeycakes" Green line stop in Union Sq.

Hey Mole Fan: I got my "Joeycakes" Card already from City Hall. It will take me all over the city as well as metro area and will soon replace the "Charlie Card" currently in use. I think it will also conveniently slip through the ATM machine at the Pat Tow's Towers.
