Former city leaders John McKenna and Eugene C. Brune support incumbent mayor Joseph A. Curtatone in today's primary.
Curtatone is facing challengers Suzanne L. Bremer and Richard J. Scirocco. A limousine with Scirocco posters in the windows and an SUV with a woman telling voters through an amplifier to "Vote for change, vote for Scirocco" was also seen on College Avenue today.
McKenna is a former alderman and Brune is the former mayor of the city and current register of deeds. They are both endorsing Curtatone. Brune predicted 5,700 voters would turn out to the polls today.
The city's only other primary is in Ward 6 where Alderman Rebekah L. Gewirtz faces two challengers --- Charles Chisholm and Robert Adams.
Is that a likeness of Brune from Madame Tussauds Wax Musuem?

No, I do not think that the mayor is gaining weight, but that Botox is going to take its toll at some point in time.

John McKenna is an attorney who used to be an Alderman At Large. He had his office in the Square and is a republican also, or at least used to be, and was a carpenter before he became a lawyer and also he's not related to the other political McKennas although he was in office at around the same time. I thought he was working as an elections officer for a time as well not long ago. He's a nice guy that I've known for well over 20 years.
The Alderman candidate who got my vote yesterday was the one who asked me for it and is in the final but I was surprised at how light the turnout was at Chapel Street even with two races going on there. I don't think they ended up with 250 voters by the end of the day based on what I saw, but I voted very early. Also, I saw the Rick Sirocco limo which was funny.
