Police broke up a drug deal between three women Jan. 16 in which 168 percocets were confiscated and a mother-daughter tandem arrested when they tried to buy the pills from a Dorchester woman.
Drug control unit cops were conducting a routine surveillance of the Assembly Square mall parking lot when they spotted Kimberly Savini, 28, of 11 Greenville St., and her mother, Carol Busa, 43, of 25 Juniper Place, Lowell, parked in a remote section of the lot.
Police said neither woman made an effort to shop at the mall and concluded their activity was consistent with a covert drug meeting. Within minutes Janine Dambreville, 35, of 90 Fuller St., Dorchester, parked at a nearby space and entered Savini and Busa’s car.
Detective James Hyde approached the vehicle and observed a bulge protruding from Dambreville’s right front jacket pocket. Inspection of the bulge revealed a brown plastic bag containing 168 percocets, police said.
Dambreville told police she had a valid prescription for the pills and offered documen-tation and a physicians business card to support her claim, police said.
However, the documentation did not contain Dambreville’s name but that of another female. Police contacted the doctor who issued the prescription and the doctor allegedly said Dambreville was not the person he had prescribed the pills.
After being arrested, the three suspects each admitted that Dambreville went to meet with Savini and Busa to sell them 168 percocets for $400, police said.
Savini, Busa and Dambreville were arrested and charged with conspiracy to violate a drug law, and possession of a class B drug. Busa was also arrested and charged with possession of a class C drug when police allegedly found methadone and vicodin in her purse.
Great job by our Police/Detective Force.
