pissed off

is it true that mr cool the acting chief lost his temper last night with his own men? time to go ROBERT, you can't control your temper never mind your men. BYE BYE

Dr. Mrs. McCarthy

To the Men and Women of the Somerville Police and Fire Departments:

First, thank you for all you do for the City of Somerville.

Second, I wish you and your families a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.

Third, don't even think about picketing at the Thanksgiving football game tomorrow or the Christmas Tree lighting.

Picket the livin crap out of this guy all you want. But not at the holiday celebrations.

You're all better than that.

Enjoy the day with the ones that matter most in your lives. And that ain't Joe Curtatone.

Respectfully,

Dr. Mrs. McCarthy

I'm Thankful !!!!

I couldn't agree with you more sugar.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well. And as for the DPW guys, don't worry. We know you didn't want to do it. Hope it was worth it to see what your "superiors" think of you.

pissed off

why he took the gloves off monday. he can stop this any time he wants. he controls his own future, but he is not man enough to say to the unions I WILL TALK IN GOOD FAITH. time to take care of business or go back to being a public defender [opps, you were not a ball of fire at that either] joe STOP this while you can. WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF YOU,YOU CAN'T FIRE ALL OF US. OH BY THE WAY IS THE ACTING CHIEF FACING THE SAME PUNISHMENT FOR HIS ETHICS VIOLATION AND FAILING TO STOP FOR A PEDESTRIAN IN CROSSWALK.

JOE, HAPPY THANKSGIVING

"Champion said firefighters could claim their seized property at the DPW yard, without being subject to any disciplinary action."

Was any food taken? Did anyone see a chubby kid with sausage fingers rummaging through the station's refrigerator? One lucky guess who that was.

Sabot

Another morsel for thought:

It's amazing how the fire chief could stand with Provost Bradley and Curtatone in front of two Deval Patrick signs in a press release for Patrick, but that asshole can't stand up for his own guys when they're getting their personal effects stolen from their place of business.

Here's a novel thought Kevin: You have Civil Service protection. Stand up like a man. You've been bent over the table too much in the Mayor's office.

Great job, Chief. Another empty suit running a city department.

Born Here

Happy Thanksgiving, the internet buzz has been better than ever. The administation is in a corner with no way out. "Rack" up another victory for the Public Safety people. Maybe they'll "clean out" the police station next !!

DPW Personnel

Warnng.....DPW assignments for Friday, November 24th have been posted. All DPW personnel will report to City Hall at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning to help with the filming of an episode of 'Clean Sweep'. They will clear all city-owned desks of personal coffee cups, family photos, clocks, etc. These will all be sold at auction. Proceeds from the auction are said to be going into the salary account to fund increases. We only hope it's enough!!

The Shadow

Hello posters, please keep everyone updated on JC's agenda. I'm sure all those public safety people would love to show up at all of JC's events to show their support.

Maria

Johnny Protester - Well, my husband and I did go up the the picket line at City Hall at 5:30 pm. The man leading the line joked with me about wearting a sign - I assumed he was serious and said 'Sure' and started to turn to pick up the sign, but he laughed and said that 'you have to be in the Union'. I wasn't aware of that, so we stood around for approx. 10 minutes and then left. Can anyone tell me if that is a fact, re: having to be in the Union, to picket?

Sam Gompers...

Maria,

The "picket" line set up at City Hall and elsewhere is an INFORMATIONAL Picket. As such, it is as far as I'm concerned, a "demonstration" and ANYONE can participate in a demonstration. Whether it is permitted or not is a question that the fireman and policeman's union would have to answer. Remember, these fire and police unions cannot actually strike.

It may have been that the union(s) involved PREFER that only their own brothers and sisters particpate. Were this a contentious situation where they were contemplating doing something foolish or risky (like standing in front of an off-ramp or something on I-93) then they would be understandably concerned since you could get hurt no matter how dedicated you were to another's cause and to helping them out. In such a case, you'd probably have to assume responsibility yourself for things like medical bils, etc. etc. which you probably wouldn't want to do. You get the idea.

I have been involved in a number of job actions over the years and have walked many a picket line mile as well as many an informational picket, both in my own union and for others that needed people because of their small size.

Usually, if the union asks you specifically to not carry a sign saying "local so-and-so demands this or that" it is because you are not a part of the bargaining unit. Irregardless of your intentions, you are still not a card-carrying member and so you should not and can not infer to people that you are. On the other hand if you carried a sign you made yourself saying "Our Police and Fire Departments deserve fairness" or something like that, you are not really perporting to be a member of the union. Still, if you are in the same line and get hurt, your probably out of luck. Maybe that's what they were doing it for. Don't take it personally. I'm sure they appreciate the sincere support. It would be even better if you contacted the mayor, your ward alderman and all of the at-large aldermen and told them in no uncertain terms that you are offended as a taxpayer and citizen (and VOTER!!!) that they have refused to bargain in good faith with the public safety unions.

Also there was another question by someone on here earlier asking if the city could just dissolve the union since the contract was up. The answer is NO! The union is recognized as the EXCLUSIVE bargaining agent and as a result the city HAS to negotiate with them. This may take many years sometimes but it still has to negotiate. That's federal labor law.

Like I say, let the councilors and the mayor know how you feel and tell your neighbors as well. Ray Flynn when he was the mayor in Boston always use to say, Take care of the fire and police and everything else falls into place. Too bad this mayor and city council doesn't see it that way.

Wondering in Ward 6...

Didn't Rebekah Gewirtz honor the picket line the other night before the BOA meeting? When she went in, did she make a resolution either for that week or for the next meeting, that the mayor settle the contract issues. Or did she say nothing and simply grandstand outside with the fire and police to show her support for their cause. Has ANYONE on the BOA castigated the mayor for any of these silly strong-arm tactics he has pulled recently with DPW guys cleaning out the fire stations? Here's a suggestion Joe, tell the DPW guys to go around and pick up the crap in vacant areas around the city, parks, and places like that. Then when that is cleaned up, you can assign them to cleaning up the insides of the firehouses.

Rebekah, the best thing you can do if you want to make friends of the fire and police unions is to get the mayor to move on this contract stalemate.

The Mole

The Mayor should be concerned with the illegal dumping the DPW is doing behind the Homans Building. If it were any other citizen leaving discarded vehicles in our yards, you know we would be receiving a knock at our doors to remove the unsightly eyesores.

Check from the School Street Bridge on any day and you will see two DPW vans, abandoned behind the dock. Artistically painted I might add. But if there was ever a fire concern with lighting these two abandoned vehicles by a City building that is useless and has no power or water to it, this is it.

First it was the Skipper's boat, now it is one of the Skippers fleet of trucks. B-5 the white one, being left to rot rather than be sent to the graveyard on Charles Ryan Road.

Mr. Mayor, why don’t you clean up your own backyard before you steal all the personal belongings to our men that serve us well?

The Mole

Average Joe

First, I want to say I have a deep respect for all fire fighters and police officers. You perform essential duties that most cannot. We could not survive without you.

Even so, we are so sick and tired of hearing about the fire department and it's baby shit games. It’s a matter of time before the average citizens / VOTERS see through your victim role playing. I know first hand the DPW did not remove your pillows and blankey’s from your beds. Lets tell everyone what they did remove. They removed all the equipment that was not owned by the city. The things some firemen use to do side work on city time. Carpentry projects, electrical stock and tools, plumbing supplies and other tradesman equipment that the fireman were using while on city time, using city electricity, fuel, property and other resources that the private sector citizen has to pay for by themselves if they have a business. The fire stations should not be used for private businesses nor used for financial gain outside your regular duties. Stop your whining and sign the contract the city offered you. You will all be embarrassed When the press release becomes public and everyone see's what the city has offered you.

Was the mayor wrong ordering the DPW to do this? He could have continued to look the other way. But wait, under the circumstances, If you treated me the way you are treating him, I wouldn’t have stopped there. As mayor, I would have some of you take the PAT test every year. Frequent drug and alcohol tests would be administered. I would also enforce the no smoking clause. The residency clause, and much more.

You guys and gals don’t realize how good you have it. Come to work with me and pay 50% of my health care and actually work 40 + hours a week. Do you actually think the citizens of Somerville are going to be sympathetic to you when they find out what the Police and Fire were offered for contracts?

Be careful what you wish for boys and girls

Average Tom

I guess someone has been nippin at the Holiday cheer again (manboobs?). Your prepared "press release" above says it all. I didn't think the City "released" contract negociations to the press. Oh well, we all have info now don't we. Hey Mole, thanks for the tip, let us know JC's schedule will ya ? See you at the Hideout...

The Mole

Today just seems like a good bomb tossing day. How come I can find out stuff about City contractors that they City don’t even know of? Can anyone answer me that? Is it because I have access to all these gargantuan computers that look like they just came out of Star Wars? Is it because I have access to the top Newspaper libraries across the country? Could it be even Butters is secretly feeding me my Intel? Or may it be the soft whispers of the good Dr. Mrs. McCarthy in the confessional booth? It may be all of the above.

The latest search I did on the Company that is currently erecting the steel at the new Dr. Albert F. Argenziano School, Zitchelle Erectors, has a very interesting past. I am surprise any City or Town would embrace Zitchelle after what the owner has gone through. Shit, what am I saying? Zitchelle is here in Somerville working under a contract signed by the Mayor and all his Board of Alderman. The stupidity of me thinking we had a “Good” company doing the work.

Zitchelle, Zitchelle, Zitchelle, now I also remember something about a person being related to a City employee who just so happened to be the Mayor’s bubbly secretary when he was in private practice. Hold on, I am doing a Crezgan act here, I am thinking about the letters, A, B, C, no, “DM” is that city workers name who’s husband works for this steel erecting contract the City hired. Yes that is who it was. The Mayor’s private secretary when she worked with Joe on his practice. Wait a minute, wait, I know what your thinking. You’re thinking I said this person worked for the City and here I am saying she worked as a secretary for the Mayor in his worse days. Well you didn’t let me finish. DM currently works under the auspicious direction of GB, the head project manager for the Mayor. Isn’t that down at DPW now with all those lucrative projects? And her husbands’ company he works for has the contract to erect the steel? How sweet is that or is it just a coincidence? One too many coincidences Joe is it? Even though the Steel is Canadian, you just so conveniently found a company that your ex-secretaries husband works for and they WON the bid? Hmmm!!!!!

Well, getting to my point about Zitchelle, there is some kind of misunderstanding with the owner, MZ, and let’s just say, with an other Government agency that required MZ to be housed elsewhere for a period of time, away from his family. Now, you can try to figure it out as to what I am trying to say without saying it and draw your own conclusions. My point of the fact is, doesn’t anyone is this City do CORI reports on new hires for the City, check with the State Boards about contractors being in good standings, doesn’t this happen anymore?

Come on Moley, this is Somerville where Howie says, “Cast a fence around the City of Somerville and give them all 5-10”. Now there is a guy that also has a search engine as big as mine. How close was that Howie?

The Mole

Dear Average Joe,

Please withold all your disclaimers about how you "have a deep respect for all fire fighters and police officers." We're not buying it your BS. You're nothing but a plant put in here by City Hall to try and persuade people that everything is dandy in your world. Not gonna work.

People are starting to see these tactics for what they are: tit for tat retaliation games. The things removed from the fire department weren't things used for private gain. They were things used repair and enhance the station (city property) by professionals in a given field at nor cost to the city. When Engine 7 has an electrical problem do you think they call an electrician or do they fix it themselves? IT's okay, you can say it, everybody knows. They fix it themselves. That's a distinct benefit to the city.

You said "Come to work with me and pay 50% of my health care and actually work 40 + hours a week." Please stop. You're some scumbag on the city payroll doing nothing and sucking up to the Mayor, or you're related to somebody who is. When you talk about healthcare, ask yourself this: Does you're job requie that you stand toe to toe with some guy with steroid rage, bent on beting his spouse, as he bashes your face in? Does it require that you gouge you way through walls of flame to save people as ceilings cave in on you? Of course it doesn't so please, spare us any talk about additional perks that may be given to people whose health is on the line 24/7.

Additionally you say the unions will be embarrassed when the press release comes out about what the city offered these unions for raises. THe only way you could know that is if you worked for the city.
Consider this from USA Todayon 1-18-06: "The closely watched consumer price index rose 3.4% last year, up from a 3.3% increase in 2004 and the biggest gain since 2000, the Labor Department said. Average weekly earnings for hourly employees were up 2.8% in December from a year ago, suggesting that for many workers, income did not keep up with inflation last year."

The rate will likely be the same for 2006. So if these unions get a "raise" that is anything less than the Cost Of Living (3.4 % in this case) then they will be getting a pay reduction in real dollars when their salary is compared against previous years. How is that beneficial to these unions.

I still laugh when I think that Charlie sold us a 2% pay increase and people bought into it like it was a great deal! The person thanking Charlie the most was the Mayor!

Average Joe, you sound just like Proud Somerville Centurion or SPD in the "cop fired but why" thread. Join them on the ash heap with a nice cold glass of shut the hell up.

golf1

Looks like The Mayor had the time to play announcer at the High School pep rally this week. However, I have one question. Did he use any "earned time" from his city job to play "Howad Coswell?" When I do coachng activities, I need to use personal/vacation time. Did anyone check this guys time card. He needs to be told to park his ass in his office for the next 12 months and do some work. What the city doesn't need is the Mayor playing with his football team like he is eighteen years old at the tax payers expense! Remember this is the guy that was concerned about fire-fighters having personal items at their work stations!

The Mole

Another day another bomb. What makes me find all these irrevocable differences with this Administration? Who comes up with all the strategic planning for Da Mayor and Boss Hogg? How many times are we to fall into their traps? At what point does the City begin to climb out?

New hires that are hired under the classification of CDL, getting the compensated pay increase mind you, but do not have their CDL licenses. No more random “Drug/Alcohol” tests submitted to the DPW by fax randomly, no CORI checks on new hires, we have 3 druggies on board as we speak that enter our homes everyday, nor does the City do any background checks on contractors that are getting paid above and beyond their prices and paying their workers who are spouses of individuals on the City payroll.

How long do we have to put up with this Stankley?

The Mole

Not Your Average Joe

To Average Joe,
How exactly does a firefighter use bureaus, beds, couches and a gas grill in their side job? You gave yourself away by revealing you know what is in the City's "offer". Wouldn't it be considered an unfair labor practice for you to release that to the press during negatiations? Think about it Tom.
Note to Jay;
Removing the personal items was also an unfair labor practice.

drugtest

why would stankey allow random drug tests for the dpw workers-maybe because his own kid couldnt pass the test or half of joes new football team seems there are more ex football players who joe has to get jobs for-if u score a touchdown ill put u to work for the city after the school year-half of them couldnt pass the drug tests either joey.

Born Here

Nice to see the Mayors "winning" week continued...Arlington 24 - Somerville 12...."RACK" up another loss for Coach Curtatone. Will Champion be releasing a "press release" stating that the SHS coaching staff had planned the loss 10 days in advance ? GOBBLE GOBBLE

Pomposity

Will Champion be releasing a press release regarding his own demise or will the next First Liar of Defense do it?

This has become one disaster and disgrace after another.

No shme, no shame..

Sabot

Average Joe,
You average prick. You said "As mayor, I would have some of you take the PAT test every year. Frequent drug and alcohol tests would be administered."

You would have "some" take the PAT every year? So you would be just as selective and/or vindictive as the current leadership? OK, I got it.

As for frequent drug and alcohol tests, be careful what you wish for you little junkie. Historically, the "connected" people (not the ones you see at the informational pickets) are the ones with something to hide. The people you see standing tall outside City Hall have no fear of any drug or alcohol testing. You on the other hand...

So I'll go with you on that. On demand drug testing for ALL, to include the elected officials at City Hall. I'll even go first.

Sabot

Stick to the facts Mabe. Don't make crazy accusations.

brickbottom

"Champion said firefighters are not allowed to bring outside, non-fire related work into the station."

So I am sure what this mouthpiece means is that ALL city employees will not be allowed to bring outside, non-related work articles to the workplace.

So Champion do you have any family pictures on your desk or wall? If so, then they must GO!

Is the Mayor's famous coffee machine a work related item? If not, then it must be removed!

Is Stanley's draw full of restaurant menu's work related? If not then they must be thrown on the trash heap.

Is the Midgets use of his office and uniform to film a political commercial work related? If not, then HE must GO!

Let's allow some DPW workers the freedom to search every nook and cranny of all of this city's building's and confiscate everything that is not work related, from coffee mugs to family photo's. That even includes the Midgets height enhancing shoes, I'm sure they are not allowed in his yearly uniform allowance.

Average Joe

I shouldn’t have to clarify every word I type here but I will this time.

I said; “As Mayor, I would have some of you take the PAT test every year. Frequent drug and alcohol tests would be administered. I would also enforce the residency clause. The no smoking clause and much more”

That statement was not a political statement or to single out people that picket. It simply means, If I were Mayor, and you treated me like you are treating our mayor, I would do everything in my power to treat you in kind. I would look at every non contractual benefit and take it away.

Lets be candid, Some of you are not physically fit to do what you were hired to do. Every single one of you had some form of political help to get your job.{and some of you just to keep it} If you say otherwise you are nothing but a liar.

Way back when, You were holding candidates signs not picket signs, making out dear friend cards, writing checks to the campaign of whatever politician helped you, You didn’t care about anything when you were hired to work for the city. All of the sudden, reality hits. A light goes on when you find out the Mayor has a responsibility to represent ALL citizens. Not just the ones who threaten to picket him. Allow me to guess what you will say in return. Blah blah blah, the mayor and alderman and cronies got a raise. Blah blah blah. Save it for the average joe.

You need to Let the public know why you are picketing. Tell them why. You and I know you would never do that because they would laugh your asses back to reality. The press release will say it all. And no, there is no law against the city releasing the information so keep on making asses of yourselves.

To the moron who said he kept tools and supplies at the fire house to repair it of damages. That was the dumbest statement I ever read. I’m sure the boys at DPW will love that one the next time the heat goes down or the door stops working in the up position or when the toilet gets clogged. Stealing work from a DPW Union worker? Maybe the DPW could picket the fire station for that. What a moron!

To average Tom, I wouldn’t be seeking Intel from the Mole any more. I have a (inside) feeling he and his brother at city hall will be on the unemployment line real soon.

Averafe Joe

Brick,

I said it before and I'll say it again.

The DPW did not remove your pillows and blankey’s from your beds. Lets tell everyone what they did remove. They removed all the equipment that was not owned by the city. aka, The things some firemen use to do side work on city time. Carpentry projects, electrical stock and tools, plumbing supplies and other tradesman equipment that the fireman were using while on city time, using city electricity, fuel, property and other resources that the private sector citizen has to pay for by themselves if they have a business. The fire stations should not be used for private businesses nor used for financial gain outside your regular duties.

brickbottom

Average Joe,

Your a vicious little arse kisser. Keep perpetuating the cycle of hate in this city and it will be you that will be collecting unemployment checks.

I in a thousand years, at the beginning, never thought Joe would surrond himself with gutless little pukes like yourself. I really thought Joe would be different. But political hacks like yourself have ruined Joe's sense of fairness and have brainwashed him to become the same type of vicious, divisive hatemonger that this city will pay for long after Joe is made a judge and you are sucking up to another politician to avoid an honest days work.

It is people like you that made the phrase, "what comes around, goes around", famous.

Go back to the rock you crawled from under you little snake.

brickbottom

"The fire stations should not be used for private businesses nor used for financial gain outside your regular duties."

Sounds more like City Hall than any other department in this city. You want to play hardball? Wait and see little one.

Sabot

Average Joe,
The Mayor spokesboy said the items taken included three bureaus, a wooden bed set, a table set, an electrical panel and various electrical tools. Can you name he firefighter who's selling furniture out of the station? A few electrical tools? Big deal.

Listen, city hall is taking a public relations BEATING on this one. Stop embarrassing them and yourself.

You can't ind ten people outside of the mayor's posse who think this was OK.

Sabot

brickbottom,
Don't waste your time with this guy. I hope he keeps writing. There aren't 10 people outside city hall who think this is right. It's only going to further embarrass the administration.

brickbottom said "I in a thousand years, at the beginning, never thought Joe would surrond himself with gutless little pukes like yourself." I agree. I like Joe. If you look back at my posts I don't criticize him directly because I think he's simply surrounded himself with thugs, cowards, and incompetents. I hope he turns it around, but eventually you have to point to the top and say "What the hell is going on here?"

As for Average Joe, he's simply embarrassing himself.

Average Joe

It appears I have struck a nerve. Still, no response to my question. Why are you picketing? Why? We all want to know why.

Your name calling and threats are a bit childish. I know you are but what am I.

I suppose it was expected when you can't answer a simple question.

Sabot

You certainly didn't strike a nerve with me. I want you to keep writing. You're embarrassing yourself and proving our point.

Please, and I mean this in the most sincere way, keep going. I love it.

Don't let anyone tell you to stop. You go girl!

brickbottom

Average Joe,

Struck a nerve? Hardly.

Instead of babbling on between your sips of scotch, what exactly is your question? Why are they picketing? Because they want to be treated with dignity, fairness and a sense of being treated like the rest of you when it comes to salary and benefits. They would like to have a say in the destiny of their respective profession and not have incompetents like yourself tell them how to do their job. I would love to see yourself being dispatched to a domestic violence call or to a three alarm fire. You would need an extra box of Depends and the courage to face these types of situations. And deep down you know you don't have the balls to face any type of situation like this.

Sabot

After this disgrace and the attitudes of the perpetrators, can anyone really doubt that Scott Trant was fired for reasons other than an ethics violation?

I think not.

Relax with Scott Trant!

Relax with S.T The kid is yesterday's news.

Not Your Average Joe

I am not a firefighter or a police officer, but I would guess they are picketing because the Mayor has continuously lied to them, and has deceived them throughout negotiations. They were buying into the Mayor's lines; "we just don't have the money", and "you have to pay more for your health benefits or we will be forced to lay people off". Unfortunately, they were naive enough to believe him.
Then .... they got sucker punched when the Mayor gave himself a 45% pay raise, and gave his appointed people raises of up to 80%.
They finally realized they had been lied to. The Mayor felt they should take the hit so that he could save all the money (over $700,000.) for himself and his people.
Can you blame them?

brickbottom

Sabot,

It really is a shame that people like this have a say on what goes on in this city. Someone better tell Joe that his YES men and women are ruining his career.

brickbottom

Relax,

You wish S.T. was yesterday's news....but it has just begun. And when the dust settles he will be back in uniform and you morons will once again have egg on your face.

Sabot

OK brickbottom, you dragged me back in. Why picket? It's about equity. The Mayor and the Board of Alderman voted themselves huge pay increases but want the public safety to forgo any raises. The cost of living has increased significantly, as have my taxes, and the city is sitting pretty on a huge surplus of cash.

Are public safety personnel supposed to subsidize these increases to the elected officials?

It's a fairness issue. Deal fairly with your employees and they'll deal fairly with you.

On another issue, I have said before and I'll say again, I'm a single issue guy. I don't want to see ANYBODY wrongfully lose their job. That includes Average Joe, it includes the gy who said relax about Scott Trant, and it includes me and anyone else who works for a living.

With that being said, I will never relax about Trant. And I won't relax about the next guy who gets wrongfully fired, no matter where he or she works. If you don't like it don't read my posts, because you know where I'm going.

To all other readers, look at the cavalier attitude these people have toward Scott Trant. They say "he's yesterday's news." Christmas and fast approaching and Trant won't have a job to provide for his family. It's so easy for these people to discard him.

Well I won't. So get used to it. When your day comes (you know when you're fired) I'll be there for you if your termination is inappropriate.

Not Your Average Joe

Why do people want to blame the people around the mayor? Do you not realize that he is the problem. He has surrounded himself with these people for a reason.

Sabot

Touche, Not. Touche.

I concur, Nobody cares about the S.T. Thingy

The S.T case is in the past, let it go. Normal people don't care about that. I am not saying that he shouldnt get is job back, but when the dust settles, people dont care either way. Thats the truth. Only the cops care what happens with that. The whole case is stupid.

brickbottom

Not,

You are right...he sold his soul to the devil (Koty) to get elected Mayor and once elected was way in over his head. So he hired a buch of vicious political lifers to help him run the Mayors office and lost control. But in the end he is the Mayor, warts and all, and is responsible for the mess he created. He got a lot of bad advice from people that wanted to settle old scores and now is paying dearly for it. He was played the fool and is now reaping what he sowed.

Not Your Average Joe

I have to disagree with "I Concur ...". We have to compile all of these individual cases that illustrate exactly what this Mayor is about. He is playing with people's livelihoods, and that should not be forgotten. Put all of these actions together, and we get quite a picture of the type of administration we are dealing with. Let's face it, we have not seen this type or amount of political vindictiveness in this City for many years. To a time we should not return to.

Sabot to brickbottom

Concur anywhere you want. It won't change what I'm doing.

I'm going to talk abouy Trant until he gets his job back so get used to it.

And if nobdy really cared, why is "Cop fired but why" the most populare story in the history of the Somerville News?

If you don't care why are commenting on it at 1AM?

Hopefully you'll never lose your job and have people try to forget about you.

As for me, I'll ake my own decisions.

Has anyone seen Bert?

Has anybody seen or heard from B.G?

Average Joe

I told all of you in advance that this would be the response. Blah blah blah!

You are not being truthful with the readers. Or your union is not being truthful with you.
Police & Fire were most certainly offered equitable contracts. It’s leadership would rather break the bank and put the burden on the non civil service protected tax payers of this city.

Who are the highest paid employees in the city? Police & Fire. Your response will be: we earn the most because we have to work details and those are funded by private companies. Blah blah blah.

“You said deal fairly with your employee and they’ll deal fairly with you?”
That road is a 2 way street. It’s a street less traveled by you.

The mayor did get a raise. Nonetheless, I guarantee he will not be in the top 50 highest paid city employees list.

When you were a little one and you were asked what do you want to be when you grow up, Did you say a rich police officer, a rich fireman? Or did you just say police officer or fireman?

Maybe it’s time you grow up and do your job!

The job I couldn’t do as you so eloquently put it.

Average Joe, you got the 1am shakes ? Double posting and smelling of booze ? Toss the cost of living increase as a number and i'm sure the picket sign will disappear. I stopped in City Hall the day after Thanksgiving and the doors were locked. Another Hack Holiday huh ? I guess you've been on a 3 day bender.
