Floormaster Squeeze

And this relates to Somerville how?

James Norton

Floormaster -

It has nothing to do with Somerville specifically, BUT, we have large amount of daily visitors to this weblog in the middle of the day and those people don't have a radio or a television on while they are working. Not that I feel the need to have to explain myself, but I figured since I was sitting at my desk working and I had the information handy, I would post it.

JN

Ron Newman

I actually appreciated seeing it here. Thanks, JN.

Sabot

Thanks JN,
I heard it here first.

wicked awesome

Thank you James for the post, your the best, George, Neil and you are the best.

Thanks JN!

Thanks JN. I love you!!!

Floormaster Squeeze

Yeah, it is a tragedy but for a site that is so stingy with its empathy for other people it is odd you chose this particular tragedy (with many others to choose from). Is it proximity that makes empathy difficult? The other responses, thanking you for alerting them to tragedy, defy explanation.

Your The Best.

Thanks JN your the best!

Mucho Gusto!!!

Gracias JN!!! From the boys at Foss Park!!!

Ouch

JN,
Floormaster must have been burned by your wit in the past.

We have empathy... just not for crybabies like yourself, Floormaster.

You're all idiots

You don't know the difference between "your" and "you're". Must be somerville high grads

Floormaster Squeeze

Thanks for making my point about the selective use of civility and empathy everyone!

Thanks JN

Thanks for the coverage JN.

English Class

Dear You're All Idiots,
Were you posting on YOUR laptop while looking in the mirror when you made YOUR last post, because YOU'RE an idiot.

You wrote "You don't know the difference between "your" and "you're". Must be somerville high grads." LET'S REVIEW:

First of all, Somerville is capitalized.

Second, YOUR is of or relating to you or yourself or yourselves especially as possessor or possessors , agent or agents , or object or objects of an action ; of or relating to one or oneself . Quite simply put for Idiots, it is the possessive form of YOU, as in "YOUR wit" in Ouch's post.

Third, YOU'RE is a contraction of 'you are.' e.g.: "You're certain that's right?" Yes I am.

It wouldn't be proper to say "Floormaster must have been burned by YOU ARE (YOU'RE) wit in the past."

No, no, no, the correct statement is "Floormaster must have been burned by YOUR wit in the past."

Finally, it can be stated unequivocally that YOU'RE the idiot that you wrote about, we are not YOUR idiots. Why don't you leave Harvard and save some money... we have a spot for you at Somerville High where we can teach you all you need to know.

Dr. Mrs. McCarthy

Dear E. Class,

I've never been one to call anyone an idiot, but I do think that if you're going to give English classes, you should lead by example.

Your post was fine until the last paragraph. Read it again and see if you can spot the grammatical error. There will be a test later in this period.

You'res,

Dr. Mrs. McCarthy

NJB: SHS Class of '49

Dr. Mrs. McCarthy;

Thank you for defending the honor of everyone who ever warmed a seat at SHS.

There are, in fact, at least two grammatical errors in that last paragraph. I won't even mention the run-on penultimate sentence.

They who teached taught us better than they knew.
