Unofficial tally: Jehlen wins Somerville by fewer than 400 votes
According to a source inside one of the two campaigns war rooms, Patricia D. Jehlen has won the Somerville portion of the 2nd Middlesex Senate district by less than 400 votes.
Jehlen was expected to win the city by a more decisive margin and needed to do so to make up for more any losses incurred in the more conservative municipalities of Medford and Woburn.
Here are more results from the city:
In Ward 1 precinct 2, White beat Jehlen 205 to 98. In Ward 1, precinct 3, White beat Jehlen 126 to 67. In Ward 2, precinct 1 White beat Jehlen 235 to 232. In Ward 7 precinct 1, Jehlen beat White 266 to 147. In Ward 7, precinct 2 Jehlen beat White 149 to 146.
Developing...
Ward 2 precinct 1 isn't even in the senate district, is it?

Yeah, what's up with that? Is that a typo? Or has there been a change since this:

I was looking at the pdf map from the state site. So that's two sources that have 2-1 in another senate district.

It's clearly a typo or miscommunication. Someone must have been reading them over the phone from the White campaign to the News. Whatever, we're going to get the overall results soon enough.

Somerville City Cable 16 gives the Somerville results as
Jehlen 3588, White 3115. That's more than a 400 vote margin (though not a huge amount more).
White did not win any of the other towns, either.
