Gun, Heroin, and Cocaine Seized
After a two-month investigation, members of the Cambridge Police Department Special Investigations Unit executed several warrants in connection with illegal drug activity in Cambridge, arresting two brothers and a female on drug-related offenses.
“We’ve been building this case for a long time,” said Deputy Superintendent Paul Ames. “Our investigators were patient, developed solid information, and were able to execute their plan to arrest the suspects nearly simultaneously to avoid allowing either target to evade capture. We are extremely pleased that these arrests have helped make our City safer by removing an illegal firearm and drugs from our streets.”
After executing two search warrants, Matthew Splaine, 34, of 70 Clarendon Avenue in Cambridge was arrested and charged with Possession of Firearm or Ammunition without FID Card, Possession of a Class A Drug, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law. Emma Frank, 24, of 30 Richard Avenue in Cambridge was also arrested and charged with Drug Violation near School/Park, Possession to Distribute Class A Drug, Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law, and Possession of a Class B Drug.
Recovered were 34 bags of heroin totaling approximately 6 grams, drug packaging materials, a loaded handgun, and $1922.00 in U.S. currency.
Jonathan Splaine, 36, of 62 Clarendon Avenue in Cambridge was arrested and charged with Possession to Distribute Class B Drug, Possession of a Class C Drug, and Drug Violation near School/Park after police executed two additional search warrants.
