Although housebreaks were down 13% last year from the 5-year average, as warmer weather during the spring and summer months approaches Cambridge Police typically see an increase in housebreak activity across the city.
The Cambridge Police Department would like to alert residents to this seasonal pattern and ask that residents take all of the proper precautions to help ensure that they or their homes are not victimized.
Housebreaks most commonly occur during the daytime while victims are not home, or while homeowners are away on vacation. To request a FREE Residential Safety Survey from the Cambridge Police Department, which provides a general assessment of the vulnerability of your residence, contact the Community Relations Unit at 617-349-3236.
