Members of the Cambridge Police Department joined representatives from other City agencies, local businesses, and universities at a meeting of the Cambridge Public Safety Association.
The meeting, the first of three CPSA meetings slated for 2011, was held at Genzyme world headquarters in Kendall Square on the morning of May 16th and focused on The Digital Workplace – New Media, Risks and Security.
Commissioner Robert C. Haas and Superintendent Steven Williams shared opening remarks and welcomed the nearly 75 people in attendance at the meeting.
Presenters included: Vincent Grossman and Shena Latta, U.S. Secret Service Agents, Joan Goodchild, Senior Editor at CSO Magazine, Scott Schafer, Chief of Consumer Protection Division at the Office of Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, Joe Murphy, a detective with the Cambridge Police Department, and Tom Domenico, Director of IT at MassPort.
All of the presenters shared valuable information on the state of the internet, technology, and information and data security. Those in attendance found the presentations valuable were inquisitive about how they should be protecting themselves, their employees, and their organizations from risks posed by hackers and unintended security breaches.
