Is that Ciampa Manor? There were plenty of sign-holders at Dilboy this morning -- a mix of Rebekah Gewirtz, Fred Berman, and Joe Curtatone.

It's against election laws for unattended signs to be left at polling places. Unfortuantely, it doesn't get enforced unless there's a complaint, and we are thus left with 'sign pollution'. Unattended signs are also a danger when it's windy.

According to this official publication from the Massachusetts Secretary of State, there are no state laws regarding unattended signs. Any sign, whether attended or not, must be more than 150 feet from the entrance to a polling place.

If that's 150 feet from Ciampa Manor I'll kiss Dr. Mrs. McCarthy next time I see her.
That's right across Winslow Street. Are they counting the distance one would walk through the courtyard, into the building, wind down the hallway and then double back into the polling room? That might be 150 feet with a tailwind, maybe.

The law says 150 feet from the entrance to a building containing a polling place. I'm not sure all of us who stand in front of the former Enterprise Rent-a-car across from Dilboy are compliant, either. (But if we aren't, then the huge LAFUENTE sign there isn't, either.)

Election Law needs to brush up on, well, himself.

Speaking of Election Law, the Farm Team dropped a rumor on their blog about "people voting when they're not allowed to vote."
Any word on the street? (I can imagine where...)

It's raining hard however, I saw LaFuente knocking on doors all morning in Ward 3 and Ward 4. This guy doesn't quit! Did anyone see other candidates out walking in the rain?

I haven't seen hide nor hair of any candidate here in Ward 2, despite the fact that I vote in every election and work from home, so I *know* they're not coming around. I guess Ward 2 is the red-headed stepchild of Somerville politics. It's a pity, because I have four votes for Alderman-At-Large, and I blanked two of them. I'd have given one or both to any candidate who bothered to ask for it in person!

Yes, the only candidate I have seen on the streets was Lafuente.
Last week in Davis Square and last night on Elm stree near Porter Square. Lafuente has sent out some great literature and was handing out nice pieces last night.

Did Lafuente ever make the rounds in Ward 5? I don't know enough about him to vote for him. The only candidates that I saw on the streets making the rounds this season were Fred Berman and Joe Lynch.

The only candidate I met at my door was O'Donovan and Desmond. Doesn't mean someone else didn't come whom we missed, but there's usually someone home.

Lafuente did my street in September Ward 5 prec 3. I have seen him walking other streets. He seems to be doing more work than the other At Large candidates combined.

Fred & Tony stopped by (separately), plus saw Tony on the bike path at Willow one morning on my way into work.
No Charlie, no Ice Queen. Jack may have perceived (correctly, IMHO) that his time would be better spent elsewhere.
Which raises the question: maybe some of these guys either don't go door-to-door, or stay away from certain areas? For example, Desmond might have figured it would be more worth his while to spend time in Ward Five instead of banging on doors on my street in Six.
Fred Berman's Don Quixote, though. Did he make it out of West Somerville?

As far as I can tell, Charlie Chisholm quit campaigning after the preliminary. I haven't see a single sign, leaflet, or mailing from him. He had at least two sign-holders at Dilboy on the morning of the prelim, but none today.

I dont know about the rain in the rest of the city but the SNOW was sure as hell coming down all over the race in Ward 2, and the forecast predicts heavy snow at the celebration for her victory today!

I heard she can hold her own with Michael Ray Richardson.
