Lets see, Alderman Bruce Desmond is running for clerk of courts and Alderman Dennis Sullivan is no longer running for state Senate. Now word is circulating about another alderman running against newly elected Senator Pat Jehlen. We can’t confirm it but we think its either Ward 7 Alderman Bob Trane or Ward 5 Alderman Sean O’Donovan. Its still early so we expect to hear lot of rumors here.

Actor Ben Affleck was in Somerville staking out future places to shoot his next movie. He must like this city because he was also seen having lunch at the Paddock on Pearl Street a few weeks back.

The local city and ward democratic party members met last week at the VNA, the guest speaker was State Treasurer Tim Cahill who handled himself very well when attacked by some of the local politicians who wanted to put him on the spot for the lack of money delivered here to Somerville from the Lottery. Treasurer Cahill was very good in his defense, some observers there said he looks like potential Gubernatorial material, and he’s someone to watch.

Another water bill rumor, but have you noticed your water bill has increased a little higher this past quarter? City employees are saying the rates went up because the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority increased their rates across the state. Not true, says the MWRA. The city must be getting creative with their sources of revenue. Hey, the money has to come from somewhere?   Someone has to pay for the Skippers new Red Ford Mustang Convertible that he looks so sharp in.

Still no word from City Hall regarding the 4 month old Traffic & Parking Department missing money (we’re being nice). We don’t even know if the investigation is still going on, but one source says Captain Charles Femino is still working on it, but we’re still waiting…and waiting…aren’t you?

We were starting to believe that Norman “Stoney” Stone, Johnny Ruiz’s former manager/trainer/cut man/designated loudmouth, was staying low key and out of the spotlight. Well, we were wrong. He’s back in the news again. The man who has to fight with everybody is now fighting in litigation with his own lawyer, attorney Tony Cardinali, over some non-payment issues.   No, not Norman! He pays his bills... or does he?

Well Kodak, it seems like alot of money according to Book #45127/page377 in the Registry of Deeds.

$50,000 second mortgage,8 year term, 5.75%, from The Somerville Credit Union. Loan taken on May 3, 2005 with the first payment due on June 9th,2005 and every 9th of the month every month for 8 years in the sum of $650.99.

Seems like an awful lot of money for a stupid ward Alderman's campaign. Why would anybody spend that kind of cash?!?!?!!!

A NON-UNION shop printing UNION stickers and banners. Then again, nobody ever accused you of being the brightest bulb in the set.

I was born & raised in Somerville. I'm a 43 yr old white female. I left Somerville in 97 and will never go back to live. I'm very sad to see the shape of the city now! It's a shame how the elected officails have done their best to bankrupt the city. I'm afraid though, that the city will continue to follow these footsteps. Pure greed from elected officails and the powers that be,is what has caused this disgusting turn of events! Along with lazy union workers (not all of them) that take advantage of the great paying jobs that they are so lucky to have. No one appreciates this privlige of still having a decent job, instead, most are trying to figure out the easiest way of getting paid without having to work for it! Bogus disability claims are to blame for money needlessly paid out. Also management is to blame for looking the other way when people abuse their jobs in this manner.

I was reading the post from Jody. She makes some valid points. It is a shame when people abuse union benefits. JLS is running for shop steward of local 3 so he can get his full time hours back.

Investigation into the (sexual device) comes to a close today at the SHA. I’m very happy to see that all the union members stuck together. A local 3 official told me JLS might have planted the device himself to try and get someone fired. True? Who knows, It's only a rumor.

Borrowing $50,000.00 to run for a well-respected ward alderman's seat and not even coming close.

Finding out your significant other is addicted to cyber love with your friend BC from down the street.

How about running for shop steward? That’s a big waste of time considering everyone hates you.

I was disappointed this morning watching the three amigos getting together before brunch this morning. Seems they were the only ones in attendance.

I have explained this before - I don't report the news here or in the paper. I try to keep some semblance of order on here, write my op-ed piece every first and third Wednesday and recently started Copy Editing the print version of the paper.

If you want to send me pictures or whatever you've got, I can assure you I will pass it on to the Editor and he will do whatever he needs to do with it.

You know, I think you're right dear. There are a few of us who have tried to let people express themselves and put rules and guidelines in place. Now, even with most of the expletives gone, it's still almost as bad.

I didn't even have to ask for my flaming of someone to be buried in the postings - it was anyways. And it WAS mostly about the same group of people.

I don't even like that group of people, and its annoying the crap out of me now.

If it doesn't slow down so that everyone can enjoy postings, and people won't be insulted for asking questions, then I WILL ban them all, then I'll shut off the comments altogether and make the new website transition move up on the priority list of things to do.
