Investigators connect suspect to both January 3 and January 5 attacks
Cambridge Police have charged a 14 year old juvenile Cambridge resident in connection with two more crimes that occurred on January 3.
At approximately 7:05 p.m. on January 3, a female victim reported being approached and groped by a white male suspect near Highland Ave and Marie Ave. A second female victim reported that a male matching the description from the earlier assault had exposed himself to her on Maple Ave at 7:15 p.m.
After two additional indecent assaults occurred on the evening of January 5th in the area of the original incidents, Cambridge Police officers and detectives responded and arrested a juvenile who was charged after the victims positively identified him.
After a follow-up investigation by detectives, the same juvenile suspect from the January 5 attacks was identified as the perpetrator of the January 3 attacks and complaints were sought in court charging him in connection with those incidents.
“Immediately following the attacks on January 5, our officers and detectives flooded the area and were able to apprehend the suspect,” said Deputy Superintendent Paul Ames. “It was this quick response, coupled with the follow-up work of our detectives, which was able to connect these incidents and bring closure to all four women who were victimized by this suspect.”
