“We’ve been dead for a little while now and we came here to die again,” announced the lead singer of The Yer Moms, Dex MF Ter. The Yer Moms brought wrath and havoc to their last performance downstairs at the Middle East. Along with some non-sequitors that threatened the comfort of audiences, their music is a handy commentary on the Age of Twitter and the disintegration of communication since texting and “blurbs” came along. Their songs are a thunder bolt, brimstone, and a short stick of sage incense. Be careful, it’s so short you might get burned.

The Cambridge Police Department is proud to announce the release of its 2010 Annual Crime Report which includes over 100 pages of data and information about crime trends in Cambridge.

The Men’s Health League and community partners will host the annual Hoops ‘N’ Health sports tournament and other events this June to celebrate Men’s Health Month. The Men’s Health League, based at the Cambridge Public Health Department, is a comprehensive men’s wellness program that promotes routine screenings, fitness and a healthy diet, and regular visits to a physician. On Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., the Men of Color Health Initiative will host the 18th annual Hoops ‘N’ Health sports tournament and health fair at Hoyt Field, (Gilmore St. & Western Ave.), Cambridge. In addition to basketball and flag football tournaments, this citywide event will feature live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, free food and prizes, and health information and screenings.

The scams will advertise a property in Cambridge for rent, at usually a lower than normal price.

On a warm afternoon in May, five PLIDA students gathered in the atrium of the Dante Alighieri of Cambridge, looking quite nervous and tense. They are the first students to take the PLIDA exam at the Dante Alighieri of Cambridge. But, beyond the nerves, there's a sense of excitement. In a few weeks, they will receive their PLIDA certification for the beginner level, also known as A1. The PLIDA certificate officially demonstrates competence in Italian at a specific level for work and school and is recognized by the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Employment and Welfare.

A Sergeant with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Department has been indicted on drug charges after allegedly receiving cocaine and money from an undercover state trooper, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public.
Michael Dell’Isola, 51, of Somerville, was indicted by a Middlesex County Grand Jury on a charge of trafficking cocaine.
