Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas and Dr. James Barrett, Instructor of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School and Cambridge Health Alliance, wrote an article that appears in the latest issue of MatchBook, A Journal on the Prevention & Treatment of Juvenile Firesetting.
Commissioner Haas and Dr. Barrett write in the Juvenile Justice section of the magazine in an entry titled, “Safety Net: A Comprehensive and Coordinated Effort to Support At-Risk Youth in the Cambridge, MA Community.”
Safety Net is a collaborative effort among the Police Department, Cambridge Health Alliance, Cambridge Public Schools, and the Department of Human Services. It is founded on the principle that in order to meet the needs of at-risk youth there needs to be ongoing collaboration between families and the agencies that support the city’s youth.
