The 17th Annual Old Time Baseball Game - Thursday, August, 26th at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Field in Cambridge.
This year, the Old Time Baseball Game is being played in support of The Marley Jaye Cherella Memorial Fund (www.marleycherellafund.org), founded after the tragic death of Jason and Melissa (Mountain) Cherella's beautiful 5-month old daughter Marley on February 22, 2008 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The Mountain/Cherella Family, who suffered a tragic loss at the hands of SIDS, have worked with Steve Buckley and the Old Time Baseball game to dedicate this year's game to help curing this disease, which is the number one cause of death for infants one month to one year of age, claiming 2,100 babies in the United States each year.

In late July, European fire ants (Myrmica rubra) were discovered in Danehy Park and on three residential properties on Bellis Circle adjacent to the park. Experts believe the ants arrived in Cambridge about five years ago on plants brought in from Maine by the Bellis Circle homeowners.
In addition, an unrelated colony of European fire ants are present in the woods surrounding Fresh Pond. Experts believe this ant population dates back to 1908.
These ants spread extremely slowly, and have not been detected in other locations in Cambridge.

Alastair Moock
American Folk Music
Alastair Mook engages audiences with a style of humor and insight that Americana Radio chart-topper Slaid Cleaves describes as "masterful." Not content to simply serve up a laundry list of tunes, he mixes his own songs with spoken word pieces, stories from the road, and even a bit of American history, providing context for the traditional blues and ballads he includes in every show. http://www.moock.com/bio.php
