Cambridge Parking Control officer arrested by Feds

On Monday morning, City of Cambridge Parking Control officer Tracy Webster, 45 of Braintree was arrested and charged in federal court with a criminal complaint for allegedly making false statements while receiving Section 8 housing benefits.

Webster while earning nearly $52,000 as a parking control officer for the City of Cambridge in 2009 allegedly lied when she stated to the Cambridge Housing Authority that she earned no income. 

The criminal complaint affidavit issued by the federal court states that from May of 2005 through July 2008 Webster had received $34,692 in Section 8 benefits that she was not entitled to receive.

Tracy Webster faces up to five years in prison as well as supervised release and a $250,000 fine if convicted.

Clippinger also covered the false identity of her other pet Chris Cataldo when he worked in that department. It was discovered that Cataldo falsified his employment application by stating he was qualified for his position by lying about having a U-Mass degree.but it was uncovered , he got caught and now gone. Another cover up by Susan Clippinger!
Now the $64,000.00 question! How much did Clippinger know? Was she involved in a cover up for Webster like she covered up for Cataldo? Did Cambridge Housing authority personal know what was going on with Webster? Does Clippinger have any relationship with Cambridge Housing and has she ever spoken to Cambridge Housing personal in question that cross reference with Webster? Makes you wonder uh?

While I can see that everyone is on the focus of the Traffic and Parking Department, may I take the opportunity to ask this magical question? Why is it that millions of dollars in old past fines that are owed to the city by violators were not and are not being collected or their vehicles being tracked down by PCO's? I also understand that the Parking Control Officers (PCO) are on if I may call it a "relaxed status" that they usually end there shift an hour so before it actually ends by hanging around the City Hall Annex parking lot just waiting for the clock to tick and their shift to end? If you do the math, that's one to two hours per day, per PCO. Multiply that by five days a week, times fifty two weeks a year= A lot of wasted time that our tax payer $dollars$ that we the tax payers are shelling out every day! Why can't these paid city employees stay on the streets to find those unpaid fee dodgers until their quitting time actually arrives? It's been going on for years and nobody, especially that department's head is doing a darn thing about it. I see it every day from my dining room window but never was to concerned until after reading this blog that made me more aware of what's going on and up to speed on that department's demeanor and everyday practices.

Maybe it's time for a management change in that department? These people can't be all wrong?

Maybe the city needs a breath of fresh air in the city council as well as in all the departments. Cambridge officials should immediately send out a press release to all local media outlets informing the public of their intentions as well as times and dates of any hearings that should be set to hear any public outcry from which I'm sure will be present!

After reading on some many postings throughout this site as well as the Wicked Local site, all these posters can't all be wrong! Some postings highly exaggerated but most on the money and very similar in types of continuous complaints! Why an investigating was not conducted before could be because our local city government here in Cambridge has possibly failed us miserably.

It's time for more concerned citizens in Cambridge to wake up our elected officials and urge them to step up to the plate and do their jobs that they were elected to do and are getting paid for.

I noticed a comment here on resume fraud. Resume fraud is rampant in Massachusetts. I have worked with many so called "MBA's" who don't know they're ass from a hole in the ground. I've caught five people who've lied about having an MBA from BU. As a BU Alumni, that is something I can check.

The problem stems from Human Resource Directors and hiring managers who help their friends forge their resumes. There is an internal control feature that requires that the candidates obtain a transcript from their schools. That requirement however is only enforced in legitimate candidates. If employee jackets were examined in an audit, it would be found that half of them have no transcript to very the degrees listed on the resume. This is why Massachusetts is having another brain drain crisis. Professionals here are tired of being farmed out as temps to perform the tasks of unqualified employees. Additionally, the taxpayers of Massachusetts are being robbed as we are paying twice for the same position; The unqualified employee and the temp who is doing his/her job.
