The newly formed Cambridge Lions Club met for the first time this past Wednesday evening with a kick-off meeting at the Mount Vernon Restaurant. New members were enrolled and now the club is on its way to help serve it's community with the backing of one of the largest service clubs in the world, Lion's Club International. Cambridge Mayor David Maher delivered the opening speech and vowed to adopt a resolution to assist the organization and to also host a breakfast in his office to help attract new membership for the new club. Artist and project manager aka "flock manager" of the Cambridge Street Project Carolina Aragon and her team are busy fabricating hundreds of reflective mylar birds that they soon hope will be chosen to fly over six different sections of Cambridge Street. It is part of a project the Cambridge Arts Council are involved with here in the City as an art project.
An eclectic group of ten local artists have been selected as finalists for a Public Art Commission in Cambridge. Each of these artists has developed a site-specific proposal for the Cambridge Street Corridor - a one-mile stretch of Cambridge Street, spanning from Inman Square to Lechmere, a colorful section of urban activity that spans three neighborhoods. These proposals will be on display from April 1 - June 11, 2010 in the exhibition "The Cambridge Street Project" in the CAC Gallery (344 Broadway, 2nd Fl., Cambridge).

a sprout spaghetti dinner
sprout spaghetti dinners
is a dinner theater series seeking to bring people from the Somerville and
Cambridge communities together around good food, good music, and good
performance. Each month, we'll find an eclectic group of performers to explore
the month's theme through different lenses. In the tradition of dinners hosted
by NYC-based theater company Great Small Works, we want to cast new light on
common ideas from artistic, musical, and scientific perspectives. You can find
information about past dinners at our blog.

According to the introduction to the book, on Feb. 1, 2010 a call was sent out by the book store that stated they would publish a book of original short stories. There was a deadline of Feb. 17, 2010.They got a slew of submissions from around the world. Only a third of studies directly compare
effectiveness of available treatments, according to new research
Cambridge, Mass., March 10 -- Only 32 percent of
medication studies published in top medical journals help doctors decide which
available treatments work best. The remainder either examine unapproved
medications that are currently not available to doctors or compare drugs against
no treatment or a placebo, according to researchers at Cambridge Health
Alliance/Harvard Medical School and the University of Southern
California.
